Ema Destinnová and Bedřich Smetana

The exhibition realized in co-operation of The Museum of Bedřich Smetana and The Musem of Jindřichův Hradec Region deals with life and artistic achievements of Emmy Destinn, with special regard to the stagings of Smetana operas The Bartered Bride, Dalibor and Libuše in which she appeared as Mařenka, Milada and Libuše. The exhibition also follows the world famous singer in concert appearances, often consisting of Smetana arias and songs, in picture and text documents. Special attention is paid to Destinn’s devotion to Bedřich Smetana and promotion of his works abroad (Berlin, New York).
