Czech Folklore Regions

Location: Ethnographical Museum – Musaion, Kinsky Folly, Kinského zahrada 98, Praha 5Ethnographical Museum presents interesting ethnographical regions of the Czech Republic in form of regular folklore evenings in its Kinsky Folly building at Kinsky garden.
The folklore evenings consists of musical and dance performance of interesting folklore ensemble from given region, public lecture and other accompanying events. The folklore evenings take place every second Saturday of the month (except July and August). Admission is included in the price of regular ticket to the museum.
September 10th 2011, Saturday – Pilsen (Plzeňsko), Bohemia
5.00 p.m. Folklore of Pilsen region – lecture of dr. Zdeněk Vejvoda (Czech Academy od Sciences)
7:00 p.m. Traditional songs and dances from Pilsen
Folklore ensemble „Úsměv“ from Horní Bříza (musical performance with traditional dancing)
8.30 p.m. Traditional Pilsen cooking

5.00 p.m. –Ethnographical region of Kopanice – lecture of dr. Jan Blahůšek (National Institute of Folk Culture)
7.00 p.m. – Traditional songs and dances from Kopanice, Ethnographical ensemble Kopaničář from Starý Hrozenkov
(musical performance with traditional dancing)
9.00 p.m.- Open party with cimbalom (free dancing and singing for enjoynment)
