The Little Big Actor Jindrich Mosna

photo of Jindrich Mosna with cylinder hatJindrich Mosna was an outstanding person of Czech Theatre since 60ies of 19th century to the beginning of 20th century.

There´s depicting the life story from the boy, who´ s a theatre freak, from the time, when he was a trainee to his adult age, age of the star of Czech theatre.
He was very small (less than 1 m 60 cms), but too much flexible and skillfull.

Mosna was amazing  like acrobat in folk comedies in opened theatre arenas out of border the capital Prague in 1860´s . His kingdom was roles of small men in the classic comedial repertoir in Provisional and National Theatre. But he rose to the star of character roles like Harpagon, Bobchinski in Gogol´s Revisor, or roles in the dramas of Czech authors Tyl, Klicpera, Samberk or Jirasek.

There are several parts of exhibition: Career and roles, Privacy, Mosnas´flat, Intererests, Workshop, Actors Garderobe,  Favourite Vine Cellar.

Some outstanding exhibits: the costume of Circus Owner of Smetana´s Bartered Bride, his cither, masterpiece- iron, favourite cap for balooning, orders and diplomas, many playbills, photos, manuscripts and prints concerning to his life, his voice from gramophone records from 1902!
