Location: National Museum’s new building, Vinohradská 1, 110 00, Praha 1Do you know how did the ancient Greeks live in the times of Pericles or Demosthenes? Do you know how did the people in Czech homeland live like at the same time? Do you think that those two distant regions were culturally aware of themselves? The exhibition In the shadow of Olympus will try to answer these questions and to give you an idea of how did everyday life of common people both in ancient Mediterranean and Central Europe in the Iron Age look like.

The period of 5th and 4th centuries B.C.E. is considered one of peaks of Prehistoric development of the Central European region and is characterized by appearance of La Tène culture, the civilisation of the ancient Celts. It is precisely this period of time when our homeland actively communicated with the ancient Mediterranean cultures.
Visitors of this exhibition can admire the exhibited archaeological finds not only with their eyes but also by touch – just follow our haptic path.
