- Original living and working environment of an excellent Czech historian František Palacký, the leading figure of scientific and political life during the XIXth century – „Father of his People“, and his son-in-law, František Ladislav Rieger, a notable politician, lawyer and encyclopedist.
On the 1st floor of the Mac Neven´s Palace in the Rococo style there is a flat preserving the original living and working environment of an excellent Czech historian František Palacký – „Father of his People“ and his son-in-law František Ladislav Rieger - a notable politician, the leader of the Conservative Old Czech party. However, other members of the family lived and worked in this flat before and after them. The flat with exceptionally original preserved furniture is created by a social and musical saloon, a dining room, a sleeping room and Palacký´s study room. The interior was gradually extended and enriched by new objects and changes, resulting from the needs of its occupants. There are artistic and historic collections from the XIXth century and the beginning of XXth century worth mentioning. For this reason the Memorial in its present state represents home of several generations. The flat keeps the atmosphere of a wealthy city household of the second half of the XIXth century and the beginning of the XXth century.
