Exhibition Death – Lectured programs

Life vs. Death

Why are people afraid of death? How did people deal with death in the past? During the programe students will learn more about this taboo topic. They will find out, that in the past the death was an usual part of life. They will be confronted with various times of death in the world of animals and humans. They would be lead to think about drastic form of death as murder, execution, war, deadly disease. Student will also discuss the topic of eschatology, what did people assumed is after death and what do we think now. The program takes place in the exhibition and the students work with worksheets.

Outputs: Students uncover the taboos associated with death, they realize scientific significance of the death and difference, how the death was seen in the past and today. They also develop their visual literacy, critical thinking, arguments and expressing their opinions. They can describe their feelings and impressions, in one part of the program they work independently and select important information.

Mysterious Death?

How does nature deal with the death? How varies the cycle of life and death in human lives and in lives of animals? During the program students will learn more about the present of death in the cycle of life and how much this is a balance needed in nature. They also discover how were about death thinking our ancestors and they will have oppurnity to learn about the development of approaches to death from prehistory to the present. They become familiar with various mythological interpretations of death and the afterlife. Students are encouraged to reflect on the role of death on earth, and over its various forms and approaches to it. The program takes place in the exhibition and the students works with worksheets.
