The Janeček String Quartet was founded in 2023 by four young musicians who share a common background at the Brno Conservatory. All members are graduates of the institution and studied under distinguished chamber music teachers, including members of the Janáček Quartet, Miroslav Zicha, and Miroslav Kovář.

The ensemble focuses on the interpretation of string quartet repertoire spanning a wide range of historical periods, from Haydn to Prokofiev. They have taken part in masterclasses with leading Czech chamber musicians such as Pavel Nikl, Štěpán Ježek, Jiří Kabát, Peter Jarůšek, and many others. Among their most recent achievements is Third Prize at the 2025 Leoš Janáček International Competition in Brno.

At the Ethnographic Museum, the Janeček Quartet will perform two string quartets by the Czech composer Leoš Janáček.
