You might notice little mouse tracks on the floor of the museum. Mouse in a museum, that’s surely something new, you may wonder. A pigeon would top it off! Dear visitors, do not be discouraged – instead, try to follow the tracks. It is very likely that they will lead you to our Mouseum. And that’s where things will happen! But before doing that, let's start from the beginning. It all started with a book. The Long Night of the Museum Mouse, have you heard of it? It was written by Radek Malý and beautifully illustrated by Filip Pošivač. It probably won’t come as a surprise that the main characters of the story are Elvíra the mouse and Emil the pigeon. One thing led to another and lo and behold! A new idea inspired by this book was born – a place as if from the pages of the book was built on the premises of the New Building of the National Museum. A place where the worlds of reality and fantasy meet. The adult world and the children’s world.

There is something for everyone. Little bookworms will be delighted by the literary corner full of books chosen by none other than Elvíra the mouse and Emil the pigeon (if you find a pigeon feather in a book, don't throw it away. It’s just Emil’s bookmark...). Aspiring artists can get into a creative mood and create something nice to remember. And don't worry, we have also thought of competitive or playful souls of all ages, as well as inquisitive adventurers who would like to get acquainted with other objects of the National Museum.

If you want to find out whether the little mouse tracks and pigeon feathers are real or not, don’t forget to wander into our Mouseum during your visit of the National Museum. Just don't put off the visit, dear visitors, because we can’t wait to meet you.
