Core-forming technique is the oldest and most common way of producing glass vessels before glass blowing. Core-formed vessels suddenly appear during the second half of the 16th century. However, this technique achieved its apogee between the sixth and first centuries B.C., the glass bottles of this period, so called Mediterranean Vessels, can be divided into three major chronological groups. These luxurious vessels served as elegant containers for expensive scented oils, parfumes and ointments.
