Celebrate a birthday with your children at the National Museum!

The National Museum offers the possibility of organizing a non-traditional children's birthday party, which will be an unforgettable experience not only for children, but also for their friends and guests. A visit to the unique exhibitions and expositions of the National Museum combined with a specially prepared entertainment-educational program with a lecturer will prepare an unrepeatable birthday celebration for children. If interested, it is also possible to use a special offer of birthday refreshments.

Birthday party at the Náprstek Museum of Asian, African and American Cultures

• A visit to the antipodes

A birthday party in the non-traditional environment of the Náprstek Museum of Asian, African and American Cultures full of learning about non-European cultures and games. The celebrants and their friends take on the role of explorers and travelers in the museum and embark on an adventurous journey to the antipodes.

The program is focused on the long-term exhibition Cultures of Australia and Oceania. The lecturer will guide the children through the exhibition, introduce them to the differences in the life of foreign cultures in a playful way, introduce the original inhabitants, their way of life, examples of their art, but also museum work with found or acquired objects. After getting to know the exhibition, there will be a "combat game", in which the children will use the acquired knowledge and will perform tasks distributed throughout the museum area (depending on the weather, also outside in the museum courtyard). After completing all the tasks, they will get a map that will lead them to the hidden treasure. There will also be thematic creations, during which the children will make unusual souvenirs.

This will be followed by free entertainment with prepared refreshments in the children's studio or outside in the courtyard area. Refreshments are only possible under the supervision of the parents/person ordering the party. Other thematic activities during free entertainment must be ordered in advance from the contact person if interested.

Suitable for children from 6 years old.

Refreshment offer: Refreshments can be ordered from the operator of Dorado Café (located in the courtyard of the museum) or can be ordered by the person ordering the celebration.

• A journey upstream of the Zambezi

The unconventional celebration is inspired by the current Emil Holub exhibition. Together with the famous traveler, we will go to South Africa and search for "water that thunders". During our discovery trip, we will get to know the local ethnic groups and their everyday and cult objects. We will also get to know the African landscape and local fauna.

After a short introduction to the exhibition, which will take place in a playful way, there will be a combat game, during which the children will find themselves in the shoes of travelers and explorers. They will complete tasks (located throughout the museum, depending on the weather and outside in the courtyard), which will ultimately lead them to a hidden treasure. There will also be themed creations, during which children will make unusual souvenirs.

The celebration ends with free entertainment with prepared refreshments in the children's studio or outside in the courtyard area. Refreshments are only possible under the supervision of the parents/person ordering the party.

Information for parents / general conditions:

• By agreement, it is possible to prepare (production) birthday invitations with motifs of the museum and the relevant program.
• The program is suitable for children aged approx. 6–10 years.
• The program can be adjusted according to needs after prior agreement with the lecturer.
• The party can be organized for 10–15 children.
• The time allowance for the birthday party program is approximately 180 minutes.
• The celebration starts from 10 am to 3 pm, the museum closes at 6 p.m. in most buildings.
• The celebration must be booked at least 3 weeks before the planned date of the celebration.
• The reserved celebration can be canceled no later than 3 working days before the planned date of the celebration (in case of illness, it can be postponed to another free date by agreement).

Payment terms:

• The price of the birthday party is CZK 3,500 (in English)
• The price includes: entrance to the museum as part of the program, lecturer, art supplies.
• The price does not include: refreshments (it is possible to order them from the operator of the cafe services in the given object, or parents can arrange them themselves in some objects of the National Museum), additional fun activities to the tutored program.
• Payment must be made at least 3 days before the planned date of the celebration at the box office of the given National Museum object or by transfer to the National Museum account after agreement with the National Museum contact person.
• If you are interested in organizing a celebration outside the opening hours of the museum, an additional fee will be charged for the operation.
