The separate meteorite collection of the National Museum in Prague was established around 1900, until then (since 1824) meteorites were part of the mineralogical collection. In 1904, the collection included 181 falls and finds (a total of 218 individual pieces). By the end of 2024, the collection included 553 inventory items of meteorites (376 individual falls and finds), of which ordinary chondrites: 193 (falls and finds), carbonaceous chondrites: 11, enstatite chondrites: 5, irons: 124, pallasites: 17, mesosiderites: 8, eucrites: 6, diogenites: 2, aubrites: 1, ureilites: 1, lunar meteorites: 4, Martian meteorites: 4.
