Library HARMONIE was created by activity one of the same Masonic association founded in Prague in 1870. Its scope, but also its content composition, the library HARMONIE after the floods of 2002, which significantly damaged the library of the Grand Lodge of the Czech Republic, our most important book fund for the study of Czech and Central European Freemasonry late 19th and first half of the 20th century. As part of the funds of the National Museum presents HARMONIE significantly homogenous unit consisting almost exclusively Masonic literature issued since the eighteenth century to the thirties of the twentieth century and is an important source of knowledge, not only for the German-speaking lodges in the Czech Republic, but also many lodges in Germany, especially in Saxony, Our contribution aims based on a survey of the library HARMONIE give a representation of its occurrence in the context of the demise of Freemasonry as Emperor Francis II. and attempts on his recovery, which in 1870 led to the emergence of HARMONIE, the first Masonic Association, which can be associated with the history of modern and contemporary Freemasonry in our country. This article contains analysis of the provenance of the library and descriptions of books and manuscripts, selected with a view to clarifying the Masonic symbolism, which despite its historical significance is wider public still too unknown.
