The new double issue of Acta Musei Nationalis Pragae – Historia litterarum (Vol. 69, 2024, Nos. 3–4) was published in June 2025.
This year’s autumn double issue of Acta Musei Nationalis Pragae – Historia litterarum (Vol. 69, 2024/3–4) partially continues the thematic focus of the spring double issue, which included four papers originally presented at the conference Josef Jungmann: Od jazyka k identitě [Josef Jungmann: From Language to Identity]. The section Studies thus comprises the text of Martin Drozda dealing with Jaroslav Vobr’s collection of chapbooks as well as articles devoted to Josef Jungmann and his oeuvre, either fully (Využití výsledků lexikografické činnosti vídeňského profesora češtiny J. V. Zlobického v Jungmannově Slovníku česko-německém [The Use of the Lexicographical Work of the Viennese Professor of Czech J. V. Zlobický in Jungmann’s Slovník česko-německý /Czech-German Dictionary/], Druhý život Josefa Jungmanna v německojazyčných periodicích z českých zemí /1847–1878/ [The Second Life of Josef Jungmann in German-Language Periodicals from the Czech Lands (1847–1878)]) or at least partially (Slovník v životě a díle Josefa Franty Šumavského [Dictionaries in the Life and Work of Josef Franta Šumavský]).
The double issue further contains three reviews. Two articles by two different authors, Jan Novotný and Petr Mašek, are dedicated to Petr Voit’s extensive monograph Boj o volnou plochu: Slepotisk na české knižní vazbě 16. století dle databáze NUSK a Strahovské knihovny v Praze [Struggle for the Free Space: Blind Stamping on Czech Bookbindings of the 16th Century According to Data from the NUSK Database and the Strahov Library in Prague]. The third review, authored by Martina Vodáková, examines the comprehensive critical catalogue accompanying the exhibition Kniha a závoj: 1100 let od úmrtí kněžny a světice Ludmily [The Book and the Veil: 1100 Years Since the Death of Princess and Saint Ludmila], which was on display at the National Library of the Czech Republic at the turn of 2022.
The section The News from the National Museum Library provides regular information on the acquisition activities of the National Museum Library in 2024 (Pavel Muchka). In addition, in a contribution by Helga Turková, it commemorates the significant jubilee of PhDr. Eva Stejskalová, the long-time former head of the Journals Department at the National Museum Library. A regular part of the autumn double issue is again the section Matiční listy, prepared by Matice česká, a section of the National Museum Society. This time, in line with the theme of the entire issue, it is dedicated to Josef Jungmann. In addition to the usual Zpráva o činnosti Matice české za rok 2024 [A Report on the Activities of Matice česká in 2024] (Pavel Muchka) and one information panel prepared within the project Czech Writers in the Regions of the Czech Republic, it includes an extensive pictorial supplement titled Památky na Josefa Jungmanna ve sbírkách Národního muzea [Memorabilia of Josef Jungmann in the Collections of the National Museum], compiled by PhDr. Lubomír Sršeň.
