Jabkenice Lodge, near a large game park in beautiful natural surroundings, was originally the seat of the forestry office of the Counts Thurn-Taxis. From 1875, Betřich Smetana’s son-in-law, Josef Schwarz, husband of his daughter Žofie lived there. The deaf Smetana spent the last years of his life here (1875–1884), when he composed some of his most significant works.

Guided tours for the public are only possible by prior ordering.

Price for service:

  • In English: the price of a regular ticket + 70 CZK / person (max. 20 people)
  • In Czech: regular ticket price + 50 CZK / person (max. 20 people)

The building is located on a place that is difficult to get to for visitors with special needs. There are also stairs in the building. The building has toilets for visitors with mobility difficulties.

It is located at the ticket office on the ground floor and it offers postcards, souvenirs, professional literature, etc.
