Leggiero Quartet, consisting of Anna Stránská, Marie Bařinová (violins), Ondřej Metelka (viola), and Anna Marie Kadečková (cello), is a string quartet focusing on the interpretation of classical music. The members began collaborating in 2015 at the Střezina Art School in Hradec Králové, where they laid the foundations for their shared interpretation approach. Over the years, the ensemble has established itself as a prominent representative of the young generation of Czech chamber ensembles. The quartet has won numerous awards in chamber music competitions—including the title of laureate at the Ditters Competition, a gold medal at the Svitavy Chamber Music Competition, and became a laureate of the Svátky jara Competition. It also participated in the prestigious Concertino Praga competition. In 2017, the ensemble was awarded the title of Talent of the Hradec Králové Region, which gave it the opportunity to collaborate artistically with violinist Pavel Šporcl. In 2024, the quartet released its debut CD titled Dvořák, Cordially Casual, Casually Cordial, featuring Antonín Dvořák’s String Quartet in F Major “American,” Op. 96, and Waltz in D Major from Op. 54. This CD was subsequently awarded second prize at the World’s Best Musicians international competition in Warsaw. The quartet members were all accepted to study at the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague, where, since the 2024/2025 academic year, they are continuing their artistic development in the Chamber Music Department under the pedagogical guidance of the outstanding quartet player Jiří Panocha.

The Leggiero Quartet is actively involved in concert performances, particularly in smaller towns and regions, where it strives to bring classical music to a wider audience. Thanks to its distinctive, energetic style and sensitive interpretation, the quartet has earned the recognition of both audiences and music professionals.

The guest for the first half of the program will be clarinetist Laura Karpišová, who studied at the Art School in Rychnov nad Kněžnou and at the Conservatory in Pardubice under MgA. Zdeněk Seidl. As a soloist, she has performed with the Hradec Králové Philharmonic and the The Czech Chamber Philharmonic Orchestra Pardubice, and has played in the big band Banda di Feste as well as other ensembles. Since 2024, she has continued her studies at JAMU in Brno under Prof. Milan Polák and Doc. Vít Spilka; she has participated in masterclasses led by prominent clarinetists and won first prize at the Mládí a Bohuslav Martinů 2022 competition. In addition to classical music, she is interested in jazz, arranging, and folk music. After completing the Orchestral Academy at the Hradec Králové Philharmonic, she auditioned successfully and has held the position of solo clarinetist since this year.
