National Museum celebrates 90th anniversary of UNIMA
Museum of Czech Puppets and Circus in Prachatice presents the exhibition UNI… CO? UNIMA! 90 years | 100 countries | 1 passion, prepared by The Chrudim Puppetry Museum. The exhibition contributes to the celebration of the 90th anniversary of UNIMA (UNion Internationale de la MArionette). This international puppetry union was founded in 1929 in Prague. Today, this organization, which aims to promote puppet theatre as a distinctive cultural phenomenon, associates more than 100 countries from around the world.
The exhibition acquaints the public with the existence of this organization and presents the richness and diversity of puppet theatre in different countries and cultures. On the occasion of the exhibition, the Chrudim Puppetry Museum also publishes a book mapping the "Czech footprint" in UNIMA.
