Concert from the cycle commemorating the 215th anniversary of the start of education at the Prague Conservatory
The concert, featuring pianist Zbyněk Pilbauer, will combine the work of contemporary composer Ondřej Zavadil with the most challenging piece of Czech piano literature, Pan by Vítězslav Novák, one of the most famous students from Antonín Dvořák's composition class at the Prague Conservatory. An introductory speech on this extensive and rarely performed piano work will be given in Czech by Prof. Martin Vojtíšek.
Zbyněk Pilbauer (*1996) studied piano at the Prague Conservatory and Music School under Hana Dvořáková and at the Music and Dance Faculty of the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague in Martin Kasík's class. He spent one semester at the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire and continued his education in masterclasses with Lily Zilberstein, Grigory Gruzman, and Saleem Ashkar. He is currently pursuing his doctoral studies at the Faculty of Arts of the University of Ostrava, where he focuses primarily on the works of Josef Suk and Vítězslav Novák.
The series of lectures and concerts Antonín Dvořák and His Students at the Prague Conservatory is organized in cooperation with the Antonín Dvořák Society.
Admission: 100 CZK Tickets can be purchased on-line or, if capacity is not filled, at the venue before the concert begins.
