Na nejvyšším místě v parku byla na začátku 30. let 19. století postavena fořtovna (Försterhaus), dům, ve kterém bydlel nadlesní ve službách panství Vrchotovy Janovice. Hrabě Vratislav z Mitrovic (1775–1849) jej vybudoval nad prostorem tehdejší obory v údolí pod kostelem. Původně šlo o kamenný domek, ve kterém byly v severní části dvě obytné místnosti a v jižní chlév. Později vznikly v blízkosti hospodářské budovy a v domku přibyly pokoje. Fořtovna stála těsně za hranicí parku a byla u ní zahrádka a sad. Na staré fotografii je zachycena rodina nadlesního Františka Brtka (1866–1943) – po jeho pravé ruce sedí manželka Augustina, roz. Preuwischová (1878–1938), před ním stojí syn Jan. Po jeho levé ruce je dcera Antonia, syn František a malá Zdenka se opírá o jejich služebnou. V pozadí jeden z tehdejších dvou hajných. Při pravém okraji fotografie je vidět plot, který ohraničoval blízké nádrže na vodu pro nedaleký „drůbežník“ (obr. č. 33).

Uvnitř domku se můžete rozhlédnout po půdorysu jednotlivých místností, zjišťovat, kde byly schody do sklepa nebo jak zajímavě kladené (do podoby osmiúhelníků) jsou zachované dlaždice po stranách chodby; střed, už dávno vychozený, je dlážděný cihlami. Při pohledu na fotografii je zajímavé srovnávat – zachycuje pozůstatky fořtovny před začátkem oprav. Až projdete chodbou protínající dům od západu k východu, budete mít před očima prostor, který vídal fořt ve službě janovického panství. Hned za domem se prostíral sad (ještě tu roste stará jabloň a dvě švestky), v jehož sousedství fungovala malá užitková zahrada. Louky (dříve pole) a na kopci (506 m n. m.) les Větrák, který nechal vysázet otec Sidonie Nádherné Karel (1846–1895) podle tehdejšího zvyku hlavně smrky a borovicemi. Ještě po 2. světové válce k němu vedla pěšina stíněná alejí stromů. Vpravo je pak návrší Na šancích (452 m n.m.).

At the top of the park, the lodge (Försterhaus) was built in the early 1830s, it was the house in which the forester in the service of the Vrchotovy Janovice manor lived. Count Vratislav of Mitrovice (1775–1849) built it above the area of the then game preserve in the valley below the church. The original stone house, in which there were two living rooms in the northern part and a cowshed in the southern part, was later improved – farm buildings were built nearby and rooms were added. The lodge was located just beyond the park and had a garden and orchard next to it. The old photograph shows the family of the forester František Brtek (1866–1943) – on his right side you can see his wife Augustina, b. Preuwischová (1878–1938), in front of him is his son Jan. To his left are his daughter Antonia, his son František and little Zdenka is leaning on their maid. In the background, there is one of the two gamekeepers of the time. At the right edge of the photograph you can see the fence that bordered the nearby water tanks for the nearby “poultry house” (Fig. no. 33).

Inside the house, you can look around the floor plan of the individual rooms, find out where the stairs to the cellar were or how interestingly placed (in the form of octagons) the preserved tiles on the sides of the corridor are; the centre, long worn down, is paved with bricks. Looking at the photograph, it is interesting to compare – it shows the remains of the lodge before repairs begin. When you walk through the corridor crossing the house from west to east, you will see the same as the forester in the service of the Janovice manor saw: the orchard right behind the house (there is still an old apple tree and two plum trees), next to which was a small utility garden. Meadows (formerly fields) and the Větrák forest on the hill (506 metres above sea level), which was planted by Sidonie Nádherná’s father Karel (1846–1895) with mainly spruces and pines according to the custom of the time. Even after World War II, a footpath led to it that was shaded by an alley of trees. On the right, there is the Na šancích hillock (452 metres above sea level).
