Možná nejznámějším pohledem na janovický zámek je litografie často datovaná rokem 1856; ostatně i do zámku samotného vstoupíte bránou rámovanou výrazně členěným portálem s tímto letopočtem. Ten se ale vztahuje k roku, kdy se Josef Xaver, mladý hrabě z Mitrovic (1818–1869) ujal svého dědictví. Litografie vznikla až po dokončení přestavby v roce 1858. Zachycuje pečlivě ozdobné prvky windsorské novogotiky – štíty a štítky, věžičky, věž s cimbuřím, vlající prapory. Pyramidální topoly v předdvoří jsou tu zobrazeny ještě jako mladé stromky. Příkop kolem zámku, vyčištěný v roce 1845, byl tehdy součástí zahradní instalace a sloužil k vyjížďkám na loďce.
Perhaps the most famous view of the Janovice chateau is a lithograph often dated 1856; after all, you enter the chateau itself through a gate framed by a conspicuously segmented portal that has this date on it. However, this date relates to the year when Josef Xaver, a young count from Mitrovice (1818–1869), took over his inheritance. The lithograph was created only after the reconstruction, completed in 1858. It captures the decorative elements of Windsor neo-Gothic – decorative gables and plates, small towers, a tower with battlements, fluttering flags. The pyramidal poplar trees in the front courtyard are shown here as young trees. The moat around the chateau, cleaned in 1845, was then part of the garden installation and was used for boat rides.
