Annals of the Náprstek Museum v současnosti vychází dvakrát ročně v tisku a online; publikace není pro autory nijak zpoplatněna; veškerý obsah časopisu je volně přístupný. Annals of the Náprstek Museum jsou zařazeny do databází Scopus, ERIH PLUS a EBSCO s fulltextovým vyhledáváním ve skupině „Central & Eastern European Academic Source (CEEAS)“.
Časopis Annals of the Náprstek Museum začal vycházet v roce 1962. U jeho založení stáli mezi dalšími Erich Herold, tehdejší ředitel Náprstkova muzea, antropolog Milan Stuchlík a numizmatička Jarmila Štěpková. V následujících letech vycházely Annals jednou ročně. Vydávání však bylo několikrát přerušeno; v letech 1968–1973, 1976–1979, 1982, 1986, 1991–1996. Od roku 1997 časopis vychází nepřetržitě, počínaje rokem 2013 dvakrát ročně, v současnosti vždy v červnu a listopadu.
